Towing & Trailer Safety

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources contracted with DCTC to create online training for towing and trailer safety for seasonal employees. The project included 7 modules of online content. The example posted is the project introduction and module 7 on driving with a trailer.

The content outline was provided by the client. As project developer, I was responsible for instructional design, script and technical writing, graphic design and photography, assessment and interactivity development, content organization, audio recording and editing and online publishing for the learning management system.

Communication Skills: Conflict

This module was part of a self-paced, independent learning interpersonal communication course as part of a customized training program for a property management company.

The subject matter expert provided the script, content and audio recordings.  As project designer I created the graphics, edited and synced the audio files, created quiz and interactivity.  The modules were published as SCORM compliant for the customer’s learning management system.  The software also allows for publication for mobile devices in HTML5 and an iOS compatible player.

Healthcare: Technology & Patient Care

This module was developed as part of a Minnesota Job Skills Partnership grant between DCTC and a healthcare provider.  The module is intended to provide basic training in maintaining the balance between the use of technology in healthcare and patient care skills. The outline was provided by the health care institution.

I provided instructional design, graphic and media development, online packaging services.

Search Engine Optimization

This module is an example from a project completed in partnership with DCTC and a publishing company.  The organization was creating an online training for their blog writers and web content developers on search engine optimization.   The entire project included 22 lesson modules.   The client provided content outlines for the modules.

My role was instructional design, technical writing, graphic and media development, interaction and assessment design as well as publishing of project.

CRM Software Tutorial

This project example is part of a 8 module series of tutorials for SugarCRM implementation at a hospital service and equipment company.  The audience for the training was the sales and marketing departments during the software roll-out.

My role in this project included technical writing, instructional design, graphic and media development, script writing, audio editing and publication both as web-based and downloadable document guides for users.

Hazard Communication Standard

This module is used for required annual training regarding the OSHA hazard communication standard.  The content was provided by the OSHA standard and as project developer I provided instructional design, script and technical writing, graphic design, audio editing, interactivity and assessment development and online publishing.

This module was produced in both English and Spanish languages.

Medical Assistant Review

The first example is segment of a module on Medical Law & Ethics that was developed as part of a online course to review and prepare Medical Assistants for the AAMA certification exam.

The second example is a segment of administrative skills review using telephone scenarios with suggested responses.

The modules were created using Articulate Storyline and are published in Flash, HTML5, and iOS player compatible for multiple platform  and device delivery.
